Moore Park Beach is a truly fabulous beach
and is
safe with Surf Life Saving patrols during holiday periods. There is a gentle
surf all year round as the Sandy Straights extending north from Fraser
Island protect the beach from extremes. The golden sands stretch for 17
kilometres from the Moore Park Creek to the south to the Kolan River and
Wetland Reserve to the north. Moore Park Beach is rated in the least
hazardous category by Surf Life Saving Australia. The east of Moore Park is naturally bounded by
the Pacific Ocean and to the west are cane fields and crop producing areas
which are protected from subdivision by current state government regulations.

The outstanding feature of
Moore Park Beach is the abundance of natural vegetation which has been preserved
in the newer areas by thoughtful development of predominantly 1 acre plus
blocks, leaving the rural atmosphere intact This of course leads to a quite
spectacular amount of wildlife – kangaroos nibbling at the roadside, flocks
of lorikeets and galahs crowding the skies and trees, cheeky kurrawongs
stealing your breakfast, frill necked lizards bristling at you as you walk
to the beach, and the kookaburras laughing at you in your bathers! – These
are just some of the experiences common to life in Moore Park Beach.

The natural lagoon in the
centre of Moore Park is a feature of the town. There are many native water
birds to be found here and it offers a tranquil picnic area. |
